ClipboardDoc converts the text on your system's clipboard and converts it to a DOC file. DOC files are commonly
viewed on PDAs and other handheld devices. ClipboardDoc automatically creates the name of the file with a ".pdb
"
extension in the directory of your choice. If a file already exists with the same name, ClipboardDoc will prefix
the number one (1) to the filename. This number will be incremented, to a maximum of 99, until the file is created.
To choose a directory to save your DOC file(s), either type in the name of the directory or click the ellipsis
(...) button next to the Save in
textfield and browse for a directory.
If browsing, remember you are selecting a directory. Entering a directory during browsing is not the same as selecting
it. If you type the directory name and it does not exist, ClipboardDoc will attempt to create the directory when
you click the Create
button.
The Category
number corresponds to the categories in your PDA's
DOC file application (viewer/editor). The numbers corresponding to the category vary from application to application.
The Compressed
option determines whether the DOC file should
be compressed or not. Creating a compressed DOC file takes noticeably longer on very large files, with both ClipboardDoc
and your PDA. If you are going to edit a large file on your PDA, you should generally not compress the text.
A status bar at the bottom of the ClipboardDoc window displays the name of the file created, or indicates problems if unable to create it.
All options are retained when you exit ClipboardDoc.
If you experience any errors, open clipboarddoc.bat in a text editor for a possible solution. I do not recommend ClipbardDoc with Java 1.4.0.
To uninstall ClipboardDoc, just delete the directory containing ClipboardDoc and any shortcuts you have made.
